    Principal Trainer/Course Developer, Training Department Founder Defined and created complete training curriculum (5 courses) for external clients. Specified and created training environments (physical and virtual) for local and trans-continental training delivery. Mastered new technologies (802.1ad, 802.1ah, 802.1Qay, RSTP, MSTP, EAPS) to train engineers in switch behavior. • Cut ramp-up time and improved coding efficiency for new software engineers. Collaborated with engineers from 9 functional areas across 4 levels to author and deliver training on program architecture, providing coding context for individual efforts. Initiated new hire training, distilling networking technologies to their core concepts to provide market context for development direction. • Continuously explained new technology to software engineers on an as-needed basis, allowing them to understand the goals toward which they were coding.

    Principal Course Developer/Technical Instructor (2005-2008) Analyzed gaps in curriculum; learned technologies and developed courseware to fill those gaps and drive incremental revenue. Mentored junior and senior course developers to speed development process and cut costs. Designed instruction, developed content, and delivered classroom, virtual classroom, and CBT/WBT training. • Drove incremental revenue and improved profits. Converted leader-led to self-paced (CBT) courseware to drive high-margin (81%) incremental revenue ($216K). Researched and wrote procedures manual for course development process, to cut wasted effort and costs. • Penetrated new markets, improving ROI. Adapted existing technical courseware for telecom executives, allowing entry into the management market. Division’s highest-demand new course: 20 sessions in its first 3 months. Converted and strengthened existing technical courseware for use at the university level, beginning Nortel’s Academic Program. Re-designed Passport curriculum (5 courses); implemented Bloom’s Taxonomy to change from content-oriented instruction to job-focused instruction.
